NEW VISIONS: China’s Emerging Voices @ Newcastle International Film Festival (Sat 31 March, 4pm-6pm)

NEW VISIONS: China’s Emerging Voices is an event featuring two Chinese short films - ‘Perfect Lie’ directed by Mao Wei Guo and ‘Descendants’ directed by Suzhi.

This exclusive showcase and panel discussion will be hosted by independent artist and producer Apple Yang - a British-Chinese artist and director with a long history of supporting independent filmmaking both in China and UK.

Using two premiere shorts films from the China Independent Filmmaker’s Alliance, Ms Yang will explore the themes, opportunities and how to overcome the issues and conflicts that we all face as filmmakers with Chris Middis (Online Editor, BBC North East & Cumbria) and Paul Lancaster (Founder, Plan Digital UK & Newcastle Startup Week).
