I’m mentoring for ignite100

I’m very honoured to have been asked to be a mentor for ignite100 - ‘Europe’s first £1m tech accelerator programme’ based in my home city of Newcastle (see http://ignite100.com/paul-lancaster/).

ignite100 describes itself as a ‘mentorship-led accelerator program for start-ups but with a big £100,000 difference’. They provide startups with seed capital (up to £100,000 per team), office space, workshops, travel and mentoring.

Founders enjoy an intensive 14 week programme based in Newcastle. The lucky teams that take part will also spend two weeks in New York, where they enjoy extensive support from the city, its entrepreneurs and angel investor network. Founders also regularly travel to London for workshops, mentoring and investor meetings.

Having spent many years giving help and advice to start-ups both online and offline during my time at Shell LiveWIRE, I was also a mentor for ignite100′s sister programme, Springboard London @ Google Campus last year. I’ve been a vocal supporter (and occasional critic) of ignite100 in the past so I’ve chuffed to bits that programme manager Paul Smith has invited me to get involved and can’t wait to meet the teams!
